A Few Things You May Be Wondering
Â
Every good story has a few questions along the way.
We’ve gathered the practical details here so you can spend less time wondering what to wear or where to park—and more time looking forward to the celebration.
When should I arrive?
Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres begin at 4:00 PM, so we recommend arriving a little early to allow time for parking and getting settled.
The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00 PM.
Â
Arrive early enough to grab a drink, find your seat, and enjoy the beginning of the evening.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Entirely outdoors.
Â
The cocktail hour, ceremony, reception, and bonfire will all take place outside.
We love the idea of celebrating beneath the sky as the afternoon turns into evening, but please keep the weather in mind when choosing what to wear.
What should I wear?
Think romantic, polished, and comfortable enough for an evening outdoors.
There’s a vintage influence to the wedding, so a little old-fashioned charm is always welcome—but there’s no need to dress like you've stepped out of another century.
Â
Most importantly, choose shoes you can comfortably wear on grass and uneven ground. Your feet will thank you later.
What will the weather be like?
We’re hoping for beautiful weather, naturally.
Â
Since the celebration is outdoors, we recommend checking the forecast before the wedding and bringing whatever you may need to stay comfortable throughout the evening. Rain or shine, the celebration goes on. We’ll have a tent ready in case Mother Nature has other plans, so come prepared for the weather and ready to celebrate no matter what the forecast says.
What time does everything happen?
4:00 PM - Cocktails & Hors d’Oeuvres
5:00 PM -Â Ceremony
Immediately Following -Â Dinner & Reception
Later in the Evening -Â Bonfire
Â
For a closer look at the evening, visit The Wedding Day.
Will there be food?
Absolutely.
Â
Hors d’oeuvres will be served beginning at 4:00 PM, followed by dinner during the reception.
Please let us know about any dietary restrictions or allergies when you RSVP so we can plan accordingly.
Will there be drinks?
Yes.
An open bar and other beverages will be available throughout the evening, along with two signature cocktails created especially for the occasion.
One for Kristin. One for Aedan.
Naturally, they are very different.
See The Cocktails for the full story.
Can I bring a plus-one?
Please refer to your invitation for the guests included in your party.
We’ve planned the celebration around the guest list reflected on each invitation.
Are children invited?
We love your little humans, but this celebration is 21+ only. Consider this your official excuse to get a sitter, grab a cocktail, and enjoy a grown-up night in the forest.
We adore your kids and appreciate your understanding as we keep this celebration adults-only.
Is there parking?
Yes. Parking will be available on the property.
Please follow the signs when you arrive and allow yourself a little extra time to get settled.
Where should I stay?
We’ve gathered a few hotel and lodging recommendations for guests traveling to the wedding, along with some ideas for things to do while you’re here.
Visit Travel & Stay to explore the options.
Â
And if you have the time, we highly recommend making a weekend of it.
Can I take photos?
Absolutely—we’d love for you to capture the evening.
During the ceremony, however, we ask that guests keep phones and cameras discreet so everyone can stay present and our photographers can capture the important moments.
Â
Once the ceremony is over, photograph away. We’ll be looking forward to seeing the celebration through your eyes.
Â
What happens after the reception?
The evening continues at the bonfire on the property, and all guests are invited.
Stay for a little while or stay until the fire burns low.
Bring a sports / camping chair to join us. Ground blankets will be provided. There will be drinks, stories, and hopefully just enough cool evening air to make the fire feel especially good.
Â
Do I need to bring anything to the bonfire?
Nothing is required.
Mostly, just bring yourself.
How will I know where to go when I arrive?
The driveway is long, and the house is tucked well back from the road, so you won’t be able to see the property from the entrance.
Â
Don’t worry—you’re in the right place. Look for the wedding signs at the driveway and along the property, and they’ll guide you all the way in.
Once you turn in, just keep going. The adventure is longer than it looks.
Â
Is there anything else I should know?
Just this:Â Â Come ready to enjoy yourself.
The day will have a schedule, but it isn't meant to feel rushed.
There will be cocktails before the ceremony, dinner afterward, dancing, time to visit with the people you love, and eventually a fire beneath the stars.
Stay awhile.
We hope you’ll be part of every chapter.
